In this comprehensive 3-hour workshop, Coleman Senecal will take you through the basics of oil painting, and more specifically, the different techniques used to paint a coastal marsh landscape. We will talk about composition, blending colors, and other details as we go. At the end of the workshop, you will have a finished painting of a beautiful coastal scene to take home with you!

Learn the magic of brush calligraphy! In this fun and festive class, you’ll discover how to craft basic strokes, and learn the lowercase alphabet in a playful brush calligraphy style. With your trusty brush pen or marker, you’ll create bold and delicate strokes to make your letters come alive in a charming and whimsical way. This class will cover the essentials while giving you the freedom to add your own creative flair. Join in on this beginner-friendly calligraphy class and get ready to spell out some spooky-good fun!
By the end of this class you will learn the lowercase alphabet and leave with a spooktacular name card, perfect for fall gifts, Halloween parties and cards.
The fun doesn’t stop after class! All students will receive two brush pens and extensive handouts to take home.
Additional supplies will be available for students to use for card decorating.

Meet the Artist
From the moment the tines of her pointed pen nib split, Christen Allocco Turney was hooked on calligraphy and has not looked back. She is a member of the Washington Calligraphers Guild and the president of International Association of Master Penmen, Engrossers and Teachers of Handwriting. Christen is the co-host of The Calligraphy Podcast and teaches students all across the globe. She is the author of The Copperplate Calligraphy Practice Book and loves to share about the art of beautiful writing with her local community.

If you need help taking your own photo, please arrive 15 minutes early and I'm happy to take your photo and print them for you)
Photo Tips: Take your photo in a well lit area so its easier to capture details. Make sure that your profile image takes up at least half of the 8x10 photo as it will be traced directly onto the 8x10 panel.
We will be working with acrylic paint so wear clothes that you're okay with getting a bit messy!
